How Easy is it to Find You?

With over 213 million online searches a day for information and 156 billion dollars of sales in the last 12 months it’s little wonder why it has become imperative that potential clients can find you when they search online.
People are using search engines to solve their problems, find their suppliers and connect with businesses like you.  How easy is do you make it?
More than 50% of small businesses in Australia still don’t have a website yet almost every person uses it. You can only imagine how much business they are missing out on?
More and more people resort to the internet rather than the traditional yellow pages to find their information. Getting noticed online can be done in many ways. From simple business directory listings to a full fledged website.

You need to consider the online space being similar to real estate – the more you own, the easier it is to find you and that means more people connecting and doing business with you.

Here is a quick list of ways you can be found if you don’t have a website yet
Google Maps: Claim your Google Maps, be sure to put your business name and the related keywords so that if someone is searching for your service/products locally you will show up organically.
Business and Trade Directories: List your business in as many directories as possible. Directories normally rank well in the search engines so it’s important to have your business in them.
Here are some of the free major directories you should be in:
www.startlocal.com.au
www.aussieweb.com.au
www.hotfrog.com.au
www.localbusinessguide.com.au

Social Media: You either love it or you hate it! Either way you need to be part of it! Facebook has 10 million active Australian users, and 6.6 million of those check in daily. Create a business page in Facebook or find a local teenager to do it for you!
Linkedin – Australia is one of LinkedIn’s fastest growing regions, with over 875,000 members, and over 1,000 companies using LinkedIn to hire employees. It’s a great business networking forum and a great place to be noticed.
Youtube – You tube has as many searches daily as Google making it one of the top places people look for information in the world. Make a 2 to 3 minute video of your business and upload it to youtube – it’s amazing whose watching.

If you are not online yet start with the basics, if you already have a website, get creative, keep your content fresh and your website updated, add a video, you want to keep your visitors interested and coming back.

Most importantly though – be found!
